MGT311补作业要求
You are to conduct a partial feasibility analysis for a new venture that provides a
service or product adapting to needs of people with disabilities in China. You may select one disability as your target market (e.g. visual, hearing, speech, physical, intellectual, or developmental disability) or multiple.
Here are some ideas for your proposed business:
• Assistive devices and technologies to support daily living and employment.
• Intangible services (for example travel and leisure activities, community living, rehabilitiation, medical support and education)
• Other products targeted to people with disabilities (for example health supplements, mobility accessories, exercise equipment)
Feasibility analysis covers four domains. Your partial feasibility analysis will cover
two domains (use Appendix 3.2 in the textbook):
1. product/service demand (which is, the level of interest or need for the services to be provided by the proposed business), and
2. target market attractiveness (which is, the appeal of the service/s provided by the proposed business to the potential market/s)
These are two critical factors in determining the feasibility of a new service.
You must do some information searching to be able to complete the analysis.
Here are seven guidelines to help you to get started on this task.
First, the proposed new business will deliver a service or product that is focused on people with disabilities. Think about the different kinds of disabilities people might experience e.g. visual, hearing, speech, physical, intellectual, or developmental.
A good way to begin this task is to think about the support needs of people you
Know or you think you would like if you became disabled. These are real and so relevant to understanding the task.
Second, think about what information you will need to collect to complete this task.
What are the points you think will need to be covered? What are some of the key
words to use when you search for information?
Third, plan where you will look to find information for this report. The internet only?
Library sources? What keywords will you use? Make sure to keep a record of the
reference details for the sources that you use. This will make it easier to write your
reference list and your citations.
Fourth, you will need to decide on the scope of the services to be provided by the
proposed business – what services will the business offer? Do some research on
what services or products are offered by companies similar to your proposed new
venture, and then investigate the major competitors of this company to find out
what services or products they provide. What is similar, and what is different? Then,
think about what additional or different services the proposed business could offer.
You will need to write about this in the report.
Fifth, you must consider the target market/s for this proposed business. Who will
this company target – locations, demographics, needs? Are there any special, cultural or other issues that must be addressed relating to the target groups?
Do some information searching using the Charles Sturt Library databases to find out
how support services for an ageing population operate, whom they serve, where,
how often they serve their clients, what are the needs of their clients, and what some of the problems and issues these services have to manage. This will help you to write about the target market and the nature of the product/service demand.
Sixth, consider what trends, forces, and factors in the business environment might
influence the demand for the services provided by the proposed business.
For example, how is the Chinese government promoting development for disabled individuals to maintain equal and full participation in social life? How
would developments in policies relating to disability by governments affect the
demand for the services and products for this population? How might recent
developments in AI technology potentially impact this proposed venture?
Seventh, study the relevant knowledge that is being applied in this assessment. You
must demonstrate a sound command of the relevant concepts and ideas from the
subject in this task.
Please follow these helpful guidelines to begin work on this task.
